4 tips on how to perfectly showcase your face

Higher cheekbones, defined eyes, a narrower nose, or fuller lips – all with the help of makeup. Contouring contours or conceals the face with shading and highlighting.

Contouring shapes your beautiful facial features and creates a completely natural 3D effect. Generally speaking, dark colors tend to blur certain features, while light colors highlight them. We'll show you how to optimally highlight your eyes, nose, mouth, and facial shape. With our SUNNE Contouring Powder and the ZINNEMIN Eye Contouring Duo, contouring is truly easy, even for beginners.

No. 1 Shaping your face

face

There's no such thing as a single perfect contouring style. The interplay of light and shadow should be adapted to each face shape. While there is a defined ideal face shape, we can't stress this enough: In our view, beauty lies in individuality. Every face has beautiful features that can be beautifully enhanced. Therefore, we ask you not to compare yourself to the "ideal oval shape."

Depending on your face shape, different areas should be shaded or highlighted. We'll give you tips on how to bring out the best in your facial features.

Contouring for an oval face

You can further emphasize the oval shape of your face by applying a darker color under the cheekbones and a lighter color directly on them. For a more pronounced look, you can also lightly shade your temples. Do you have a longer, oval face? Then you can optically shorten a long forehead or chin with light shading. Our SUNNE Contouring Powder is ideal for this. With the included brush, you can use the right-hand dark powder for all shading. The natural pigments always adapt to your own skin tone. You can control the intensity yourself by layering the highly pigmented powder. You can create highlights on the bridge of your nose, your forehead, and on the bow of your lips with your TUNKAL Concealer and IMBE Eye Shadow in the shade SEASHELL 04 .

Contouring for a square face

You can soften the contouring technique on angular faces by adding a little shade to the slight edges of your face, especially on your temples and cheekbones, with SUNNE Contouring Powder. This will give your face, and especially your forehead, a slightly rounder appearance. It's important to blend the shadows you apply under your jawbones well with your neck. Don't forget to highlight your beautiful cheekbones when contouring. Simply apply a brush-width of the dark powder to your face, starting from your ears. The best places to create highlights are on your forehead, the bridge of your nose, and under your eyebrows. You can give your cupid's bow a beautiful glow with IMBE Eye Shadow in the shade SEASHELL 04.

Contouring for a round face

Contouring a round face can make the shape appear slightly slimmer. To do this, the sides in particular – from the temples down to the chin – are slightly shaded. You can give your face a beautiful 3D effect by defining your cheekbones. To do this, shade under the cheekbones and mix a little TUNKAL Concealer with our IMBE in the shade SEASHELL 04 above. This gives your cheekbones a beautiful glow and puts them in the spotlight. You can also beautifully highlight the center of your face, i.e. the bridge of your nose, with a little highlighter made from TUNKAL Concealer and IMBE in SEASHELL 04. Finally, blend all the sections together beautifully to ensure the look remains wonderfully natural.

Contouring for a heart-shaped face

Do you have a broad forehead and a tapered chin? Then your face resembles a heart ♡. The perfect contouring for this face shape is to apply a beautiful, light shadow to the temples, graduating to the hairline. You can also accentuate your cheekbones a little by drawing the dark SUNNE shade from just below your ear to the center of your face. You can make your individual, perfect line more visible by creating a kissable pout. And as always: blend well! This way, the interplay of light and shadow looks wonderfully natural.

No.2 Contouring for the nose

nose

Too long, too big, too wide—it's crazy that so many people have issues with their own noses. But with a few simple contouring tricks, you can visually change the shape a bit or enhance it more naturally.

The nose will appear slightly narrower if you shade the left and right nostrils with the dark SUNNE Contouring Powder. If you want to make the nose appear a little shorter, you can apply the dark powder to the tip of the nose to make it appear slightly more receded.

If you want the effect to be even stronger, you can layer the natural pigments using the layering technique, making the effect increasingly stronger and darker. You can highlight the bridge of your nose with a bit of TUNKAL Concealer, or for a glowy look, with IMBE Eye Shadow in SEASHELL 04 .

No.3 Contouring for the eyes

Sculpting, contouring, and brow lining: Our ZINNEMIN was specially developed for optimal eye contouring. The Eye Contouring Duo is a multi-talent for expressive eyes and eyebrows in natural, matte colors.

Applied to the front of the eyelid at the lash line, the light champagne shade gives your eye color expression and a natural radiance.

Over this, the dark mocha brown is applied from the center of the eyelid to the crease. The combination of the two shades creates a beautifully natural interplay of light and shadow, which especially helps to conceal drooping eyelids and visually enlarges the eyes.

Blending the transitions creates a beautiful, soft cinnamon shade. Hence the Middle High German name ZINNEMIN . You can also apply the dark mocha brown around the lash line as a powder liner—this instantly adds more expression.

You can also accentuate your eyebrows with the dark shade of ZINNEMIN by using the buttery powder as a brow liner with the included angled brush. The lighter shade can also be applied directly under the brows. This not only accentuates the depth of the eyelid crease, but also gives the brow line a beautiful contour.

No.4 Contouring for the lips

lips

Do you want your lips to appear a little more voluminous? You can achieve this with a little professional makeup trick. Press your lips together so that you only see the edges. Now, using a brush, apply some SUNNE Contouring Powder over the cupid's bow and along the center of your lower lip line, blending it as close to your lips as possible. This creates a light shadow on the top and bottom, creating the illusion of more volume.

But be careful—go slowly with the color. If you use too much product, it can look like a mustache, especially on your upper lip.

This trick takes some practice, but give it a try. Then, for contrast, add our IMBE Eye Shadow in SEASHELL 04 to the heart of your lips as a highlight. Finish with your favorite lip product as usual.
