After our morning routine in front of the mirror, our makeup is in place. But we all want nothing to slip, run, or fade throughout the day. Makeup that performs. Without compromises , without harmful substances – especially when it comes to eye makeup.
Natural cosmetics that perform
But it's not just about ensuring that your makeup performs at its best. What we should always be aware of is that makeup lands directly on our skin and, in the case of eye products, can even be absorbed directly through the tear duct. And yet, the list of ingredients in some conventional cosmetic products is simply too much to ignore.
These range from highly critically viewed parabens, which have hormonal effects and are suspected of harming embryos or causing cancer. Silicones and paraffins accumulate in the liver, and synthetic fragrances can cause allergic reactions. Nanoparticles, liquid plastics, and microplastics create shimmer, superficially smooth skin, or are used for other cosmetic purposes. If you've almost lost your desire to wear makeup, we have good news for you.
With certified natural cosmetics, you're always on the safe side. Your skin will only come into contact with purely natural ingredients. And best of all: When it comes to performance, you don't have to compromise on anything. So go ahead – here are 5no-bad-stuff but high-performing tips for keeping your eyeshadow rock-solid.
No. 1 Cream first, then wait
The best foundation for beautiful makeup is well-cared-for and moisturized skin. Therefore, it's always a good idea to moisturize your face with your cream or serum before applying makeup. However, it's important that the eye cream, which should be as oil-free as possible, and the foundation are well absorbed before you start with your eye makeup. If you're in a hurry, a cosmetic tissue can also help, with which you can dab your eyes to remove excess oil. If you don't need that much care anyway, you can simply avoid the eye area when applying your facial moisturizer.
No.2 It's all about the base
Our IMBE Eye Shadow is highly pigmented, and thanks to the natural and silky rice powder, excess oil on the eyelid is neutralized. Our eye shadow also contains white clay, which provides additional mattifying and conditioning properties. Good to know: This mineral clay was formed millions of years ago during the Ice Age. Rock fragments in the glacier were ground into fine particles under the influence of elements such as water and wind. Clay has therefore been used for skin care since ancient times and is considered one of nature's most gentle skincare products. It also acts as a natural, light sunscreen in makeup.
If you tend towards a more shiny look, you can apply our Translucent Setting Powder ILGE as an additional base under your eyeshadow. To do this, lightly press a small amount of the product onto your eyelid using the included powder puff or our brush . Wait a moment to allow the cornstarch it contains to bond with your skin before moving on to the eyeshadow. Cornstarch absorbs moisture and oils, leaving your skin feeling soft and soothed. The best base for your eye makeup.
No. 3 Beauty Boost: Combine the products
Have you chosen an eyeshadow color and want to intensify your look even more? Then we have a tip for you: Our HOLT Eye Pencil is not only ideal for very precise eyeliner, but its texture, formulated with jojoba oil and mango butter, makes it easy to blend with your finger or a brush. This way, you can apply it in the right shade exactly where you want to intensify the color. Using our LUK Cream Eye Stick as a base, you can also set your eyeshadow in a dark shade.
No.4 Apply powder eyeshadow correctly
An eye pencil or eyeshadow brush is the ultimate secret accessory for accentuating your look or making your eyes pop. But to do this well, it's important to know what to look for when using the brush. Choosing the right brush is especially important with a highly pigmented eyeshadow like IMBE . Our DIENEN Soft Eye Brush has a very narrow and firm handle, allowing it to pick up a lot of pigment and deliver it precisely where you place it. Pro tip: After dipping the brush into the eyeshadow, always tap the edge of the brush lightly. This prevents small, loose pigments from crumbling where they shouldn't be during application.
At the end, you can always blend the eyeshadow again either with your finger or with a second brush. If you use a second brush, it's really important not to use the same one as before when blending.
For a simple yet cool look—depending on your mood and outfit—you can easily apply just one IMBE color to your eyelid. Then, apply mascara to the upper and lower lash line, as well as to the tiny hairs at the front and back of the corners of your eyes.
And now we have a little beauty hack for you: using eyeshadow as eyeliner. If you slightly dampen a brush, like our DIENEN Lip & Eye Liner Brush , it will pick up more color and make the eyeliner shade appear more vibrant on the eye. Simply dip it briefly in a little water before applying it to the eyeshadow.
At the same time, make sure the brush isn't too wet, as otherwise the eyeshadow pigments won't apply properly. To see if you're happy with the intensity and coverage before applying, you can draw a line on the back of your hand with the brush.
No.5 Last but not least: Fix & Finish
We'll end as we began. At the end, you can further enhance the hold of your eye makeup by setting everything with the ILGE Translucent Setting Powder . To do this, use a larger powder brush or the included puff and apply a very small amount of product to your makeup. This way, your eye makeup will stay put.
