NO BAD STUFF for Christmas
Gifts without harmful substances for your loved ones
NO BAD STUFF AND GRETEL
All UND GRETEL favorites are created with the maxim NO BAD STUFF: no harmful substances in favorites for skin, eyes and lips.
The skin is our largest organ and stores all the substances that are applied to it. This includes microplastics, mineral oil, silicones, parabens, and other substances that conventional cosmetics may contain. Harmful substances like these are neither healthy for humans nor for the environment. Therefore, check what comes into contact with the skin and thus into the body, and ultimately returns to the environment via wastewater.
Pollutants in cosmetics
Followed by foundation, mascara is the best-selling makeup product in women's decorative cosmetics. 1 However, it is less well known that mascara, containing arsenic and other harmful substances, can also cause toxic moments.
UND GRETEL reveals which problematic substances in cosmetics should be avoided and offers color-intensive alternatives made from the best of nature.
Conventional mascara versus WINT
In June 2021, Öko-Test tested black mascara and rated 18 mascaras as "poor" and seven as "unsatisfactory." 2 Two mascaras even contained elevated levels of arsenic – highly toxic and carcinogenic. These and other problematic substances such as paraffins can reach our most sensitive organ, the eye, with every blink of an eye and be absorbed through the mucous membranes.
WINT Mascara is the natural alternative and contains beeswax, shea butter and sunflower seed oil instead of harmful substances.
Classic foundation versus LIETH
In 2020, Stiftung Warentest asked 13 suppliers of conventional cosmetics whether their makeup contained microplastics. Most did not respond or did not provide any information, citing, for example, the lack of a "conclusive definition of 'microplastics' and analytical methods." 3
If you want to be on the safe side, choose certified natural cosmetics. These must be free of microplastics or petroleum-based raw materials. The mineral pigments in LIETH Foundation are additionally enriched with skin-soothing chamomile extract, anti-inflammatory clary sage, and moisturizing avocado oil.
