We're in the middle of it all – for the second time already: In lockdown and surrounded by a sea of masks. The cityscape is dominated by everything from medical-grade mint green to modern black, checks, polka dots, and leopard print – who would have thought a year ago that a face mask would become a MUST-HAVE?
But masks can not only save lives right now, they also focus the attention on the eyes. I'd say the general motto for masks is "All eyes on eyes" – not only because we're now paying much more attention to those small, beautiful wrinkles that form around smiling eyes, but also when it comes to makeup. That's why we've put together 5 MASK HAVE makeup looks that we hope will bring you joy and inspire you for your next mask-wearing shopping trip.
No.1 Natural beauty with a little SUN for your soul
MASK HAVES with our Lifting Sculpting Powder SUNNE in the shade Bero – not only does one additional product give you a natural contour, but with SUNNE Bero you can also conjure up a Mediterranean warmth on your face for a sun-kissed complexion. Did you know that's exactly where our SUNNE got its name? SUNNE comes from Middle High German and is the original word for "sun." And we could all use a little more sun and a sunny disposition right now. Apply the warm, sunny bronze-brown shade with light reflections to your cheekbones, temples, and forehead for a radiant, glowing complexion.
In addition to easy contouring and a fresh look for your face, you can also create super natural eye makeup. The darker shade of SUNNE BERO creates a bit of depth in the crease. Blend the lighter bronzing shade with a brush over your entire eyelid and into your lower crease. This creates a beautiful, natural, and sunnier look.

No.2 The little happiness: The easy-made mask look
It's the little things that count, after all. It's not for nothing that we named our Creme Eye Stick LUK – the Middle High German word for...? Yes, that's right: happiness! This MASK HAVE look with LUK means little effort, big effect. Whether as eyeliner or a smoky eye, with LUK you can instantly highlight your eyes. The bronze shade has a very delicate golden shimmer, making the amber tones of brown eyes glow and the depth of blue and green eyes radiate. But the shade Sapphire is also a real eye-catcher.
No.3 Playful: The Kiss your Eyes mask look
Think pink – from your lips to your eyes. The gorgeous colors of our TAGAROT lipstick and KNUTZEN lip gloss are currently disappearing under your mask. Not only do they leave marks, but the vibrancy of the colors is also completely lost. We think that's a real shame. Luckily, TAGAROT and KNUTZEN aren't just lip-smacking. Our lipstick and lip gloss are also multifunctional: as blush, but above all as a highlight on your eyes – like a cream eyeshadow. Our apricot tones, in particular, add a fresh touch. And another tip: Our TAGAROT lipstick in the shade WOOD makes both brown and blue eyes shine. Give it a try!
No.4 You've got that shimmer look
Okay – dating is admittedly more than difficult these days. But that doesn't mean you can't still shine like the sun, moon, and stars. And there's an UND GRETEL product for just that extra dose of shimmer that you can use multifunctionally: our IMBE Eye Shadow in SEASHELL 04. Because this shade isn't just an eyeshadow that makes your eyes shine; with its rosy, pearly pigments, it's also a fresh highlighter for your cheekbones and, in "no-mask times," for your cupid's bow. You've got that shimmer – easy peasy with IMBE SEASHELL. Want to try this look? Well then...

No.5 The mask look with a wow effect
Whether classic eyeliner, a winged look, or a cat-eye, every eyeliner gives your look a wow factor. Exactly what we want to see above the mask. Our Liquid Eyeliner TINCTE is not only artfully curved and precise for flawless eyeliner; it's not for nothing that its name is the Middle High German word for tincture. Verbena, chamomile extract, and white acacia are just three of the purely natural ingredients that enrich our TINCTE. This mask look gives you expressive magic for your eyes. Want to try our Liquid Eyeliner? Here we go.
Those were our 5 easy mask looks, especially those that really put your eyes in the spotlight. But when it comes to masks, we can't avoid the makeup stains on the inside. Since we're familiar with this problem, we've picked out some tricks for you to quickly clean your mask.
At this point, it's important to note that the mask—regardless of makeup residue—must be cleaned in hot temperatures after each use to remove viruses and bacteria. If makeup stains are particularly stubborn, here are our tips:
No.1 Gall Soap: First place the mask in hot water, then rub it in with the gall soap and let it work.
No. 2 Baking soda: If you have a mask with a white inner fabric, baking soda can help remove foundation or lipstick stains. Simply apply a little baking soda to the stain, let it sit for half an hour, and rinse with warm water. Finally, for hygiene reasons, the mask should always be machine washed at a minimum of 60 degrees Celsius or poured over with boiling water.
