Cleanse & Refine – The Set
The name says it all: While SCHUM Foam Cleanser gently but reliably cleanses your skin, KLAR Skin Refining Essence then refines your skin's appearance from the ground up and ideally prepares it for your next skincare routine.
Gentle active ingredients for maximum effect. Now in a value set.
Cleansing foam: As nice as it is necessary
There's no mistaking it: Your face needs to be washed. Or cleansed. The main thing is, morning and night, please. And whatever you call the process, and no matter which foaming cleanser, gel, or cleansing oil you prefer, science has even proven that your skin needs to be cleansed daily. So before you ignore a wonderful cleansing foam like the gentle SCHUM FOAM CLEANSER, you should know the four most important reasons why your face should be washed regularly (and properly).
The most obvious reason: Every facial cleansing frees the skin from the daily production of sebum deposits, from impurities such as dust and exhaust fumes, from environmental oils (for example from the kitchen), make-up or sunscreen.
Furthermore, cleansing prepares the skin for optimal regeneration. The facial wash foam continuously removes dead skin cells from the skin's surface.
Regular facial cleansing also promotes a clearer complexion, stimulates skin renewal processes, and can enhance the cosmetic effects of creams , serums , and peels. By cleansing and thus opening the pores, active ingredients contained in cosmetics, such as vitamins, skincare acids, pigment correctors, and antioxidants, can reach their target more effectively.
Finally, massaging the skin with your fingers or electric cleansing tools stimulates blood circulation: The skin immediately looks plumper and younger, and all subsequent skincare ingredients are transported even deeper into the skin through this process. Conversely, if you apply cream to an uncleansed face, which has less circulation, the expensive active ingredients are more likely to remain on the surface of the skin.
SCHUM cleansing foam: care with long-lasting effect
Fans of gentle, natural facial cleansing have so far found only PURE in the UND GRETEL skincare range. The luxurious oils of this nourishing cleansing oil not only bind and absorb the natural oils of UND GRETEL makeup products, as well as environmental dirt and sebum, but, in keeping with the brand's multi-use philosophy, they also moisturize the skin during cleansing. After application and massaging in, the lukewarm, moist PURE TOWEL made of 100% organic cotton simultaneously removes oils and impurities from the skin's surface. The cloth now has another partner in the form of SCHUM facial foam.
The facial cleansing foam, in its practical pump dispenser, can be used as a second double cleansing step after the REINE Cleansing Oil. Of course, the cleansing foam is also a standalone alternative to REINE. Not everyone likes or wants to use oil—although it would be possible for virtually every skin type. In that case, use the SCHUM Foam Cleanser and work the cleansing foam into your previously slightly moistened facial skin using small, circular motions until all impurities are removed.
Then you either rinse everything off with clean water or gently remove the cleansing foam from your face with a damp CLEAN CLOTH. The French-made SCHUM cleansing foam is so gentle on the skin that it could even double as an intimate cleansing foam in the shower.
Our best cleansing foam – an all-rounder
This is ensured by three valuable and nourishing active ingredients: organic aloe vera extract, rose petal water, both of which also act as moisturizers and have a soothing effect on the skin, and glycerin. All of these key ingredients are of natural origin and have proven themselves in cosmetics.
- Aloe vera , or Aloe barbadensis, is arguably the most widely used plant in skincare products. It has been for thousands of years. From pharaohs to the court of Chinese emperors, whether Greek, Roman, or Babylonian: Historical evidence suggests that both the leaves and pulp of this plant were used extensively and early on to treat dermatological conditions. It was believed to have many benefits, including slowing skin aging, preventing acne and psoriasis, relieving itching, reducing sunburn, and even promoting wound healing.
It's not without reason that aloe vera is called the "plant of immortality." Aloe vera contains more than 200 bioactive substances with healing and nourishing properties. Among other things, polysaccharides promote moisture retention in the skin and cell regeneration. Vitamins A (beta-carotene for skin renewal), vitamin C (for improved collagen production), and vitamin E (for protection against free radicals) are the key factors contributing to the plant's role in the SCHUM cleansing foam, along with skin-renewing enzymes and minerals, skin-soothing nutrients, and cleansing, antibacterial saponins.

Rose petal water and rose water have also been used in skin care for thousands of years. Its origins lie in the Middle East, particularly in Persia, where the distillation of rose petals into water and essential oil was first perfected. This practice was later developed and refined. Rose water was prized both as a perfume and as a healing and nourishing agent. Still a luxury item in the Middle Ages, rose water soon conquered culinary and medicinal uses in addition to its central role in body care. It is primarily obtained from the damask rose (Rosa damascena), known for its intense fragrance and high concentration of essential oils. It is particularly suitable for extraction processes because its petals contain a rich blend of valuable active ingredients, including antioxidant and protective flavonoids, vitamins A, C, and E for improved skin regeneration, and natural sugars as moisturizers. Rose water also has anti-inflammatory properties and helps reduce skin irritation, redness, and swelling. It's especially beneficial for sensitive or acne-prone skin, helping to balance skin's pH and regulating excess oil production. It's an excellent natural toner to tighten pores and brighten skin after cleansing.
- Glycerin is a sugar alcohol that the cosmetic world particularly values for its moisturizing and skin-soothing properties. This versatile, skin-loving active ingredient is one of the most well-known hydrating substances in skincare due to its ability to draw water from both the environment and the deeper layers of the skin into the epidermis. This intensively hydrates the skin, leaving it soft, smooth, and supple. Fine lines and wrinkles are immediately less noticeable, and the skin appears plumper and more youthful. Dry or dehydrated skin in particular benefits from its moisturizing properties, and regular use of glycerin sustainably strengthens its protective barrier. In SCHUM, a mild cleansing foam for dry skin and all other skin conditions, glycerin can help reduce transepidermal water loss and protect the skin from subsequent dry phases. Glycerin also fills the spaces between skin cells, resulting in a smoother and more even skin surface. This makes the active ingredient ideal for treating rough or flaky skin. Glycerin's moisture-binding properties even help with the healing process of small wounds and cracks, keeping affected areas moist and protecting them from external influences. Because glycerin also facilitates the absorption of other active ingredients into the skin, it is often used as a carrier in creams or lotions, thus enhancing their effectiveness.
