Beauty classic: Easy Smokey Eyes

Learning by watching

What the little black dress means to fashion, smoky eyes are for makeup looks – simply an absolute beauty classic. In this video, Selina shows you easy smokey eyes , which thrive on dark colors that create a smoky, well-blended look. The blending technique we'll show you in this tutorial is called "smudging."

But as with any look, an even base with our LIETH Foundation and TUNKAL Concealer as a corrector and highlighter on the face is key to making your smoky eye makeup shine. ILGE , our Translucent Compact Powder, sets the foundation, and SUNNE , our Lifting Sculpting Powder, creates defined facial features. SPRUSSE Eyebrow Pencil and FROH Brow Bow Gel create the perfect, shaping frame for your eye makeup.

Now we come to the first step of the "smudgy" effect. First, apply our IMBE Eye Shadow in the shade BRONZE 03 to the mobile eyelid and under the lower lash line. Now, apply the dark brown IMBE shade AUBURN 02 from the outside into the crease and work it inward. This is the "smudgy" effect. The look is enhanced along the lash line with the HOLT Eye Pencil in MOCHA 02 , while the WINT Mascara in DARKEST BLACK 02 provides the perfect eye finish. The smoky eye look keeps the focus on the eyes by subtly touching up the lips and cheeks with KNUTZEN in NUDE SHIMMER 07 .

This is the classic beauty look that you can wear day and night: Watch the video for the complete guide to the smoky eyes look. Be inspired!

The key to the look: Smudgy smokey eyes

SMUDGY, or "smudged," is the technique for blending two colors for a soft, natural smoky eye. The lighter shade is always applied to the eyelid and along the lower lash line. The darker color is then blended from the outside into the crease and along the lash line inward. Et voilà – the "smudgy effect" is that simple.
